The £36m signing could become the first United player to score in his first three Premier League games when he faces bottom club Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday.
But van Gaal believes the striker, 19, has been helped so far by staying in a hotel.

The United boss said: “He’s still living in a hotel. It’s the first phase of of his adaptation.“He’s still living in a hotel. It’s the first phase of of his adaptation”Louis van Gaal
“He is coming in to do his training sessions, eat with the players and prepare for matches so it’s more or less the same rhythm he had when he was at Monaco - except for living in the hotel.
“That’s also a protected area. The big step will come when he settles with his wife in a new house and a new environment.

United, second in the Premier League, will be without the injured defensive trio of Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair against the struggling Black Cats.
England international Shaw is facing six months out with a broken leg but has made a positive start on his road to recovery - helped by special electro stimulant treatment to reduce muscle wastage.
