After 38 years, Australian woman learns her grandfather is her father

Jodi Cahill, a 38-year-old Australian woman, was thrown into a state of shock when she learnt that the man she always saw as her grandfather was also her own father after it was revealed that he had raped his daughter at gun point which led to Jodi's pregnancy.

This twisted family history was brought to light after Cahill of Melbourne, received a shocking letter from her estranged mother, informing her of a secret that she had kept from the world for three decades.

In the heart-rending letter, the lady's mother said that they shared the same father and went ahead to narrate how her own father, Raymond, had raped and impregnated her, detailing years of abuse she had suffered at his hand.

Cahill was raised by her divorced grandmother, Juanita, because her mother developed psychosis due to the abuse.

The shock and disgust of the sudden discovery led Cahill to attempt to commit suicide and then to suffer from anorexia.

She suddenly understood why her mother had such a hard time being around her as she was a constant reminded of the horrific abuse.

Cahill who was in and out of the hospital due to her anorexia, decided to share her story in an attempt to help other people suffering from anorexia.

In September, 2014, a 42-year-old man, Segun Oderinde in Ibadan, Oyo State, was reported to have fathered a child by his  16-year-old daughter after he had been having incestuous sex with her over a period of time.

In the same month, a Benin, Edo Stae based man, Augustine Obodeke, turned his 17-year-old daughter, Favour, into his sex slave and his lascivious nature was only discovered after he had impregnated and secured abortions for her three times.
